Internet Accessible Xi Demo Servers
Express Interface servers use firewall friendly .NET3 Web Services
(WCF) communication and can be accessed through the Internet.
The servers are intended to provide Xi client developers to opportunity for
interoperability tests witout having to install Xi servers locally.
In case of difficulties pleasse download the Xi
Test Client application. This remote access has been tested with this
client.

Native Xi Server
Xi servers built with the
Advosol XiPLUS
server toolkit don't use any DCOM communication.
The XiPLUS generic Xi server uses the same device access plug-in DLLs
as the
Advosol Classic OPC .Net Server Toolkits for:
- OPC DA
- OPC DA/AE
- OPC HDA
This server offers significant cost saving advantages:
Users of the Advosol .Net server toolkits can upgrade to Xi without
development work.
New servers can be developed to work as:
- Xi server
without DCOM communication
- OPC DA/AE/HDA server,
without need for wrappers

Xi Exchange Server
The Advosol
XiOXS Exchange server aggregates multiple OPC DA and Xi servers into
one server. This can be either an Xi server or an OPC DA server.
Multiple remote OPC DA servers can easily be accessed through a
secure Xi connection. The Exchange server can be configured to make
all or only a subset of the OPC DA items accessible.
The accessible server is configured for a few items of the:
- Advosol DA simulation server
- Matrikon DA simulation server

Xi Wrapper to XML DA
This Express Interface server exposes an XML DA server as an Xi
server.
Existing XML DA servers can easily be integrated into an Xi
system.
Advosol offers the XML DA wrapper also as an OPC DA server.

This wrapper instance is configured to access a local XML DA
server. The the Xi wrapper server the XML DA server can be accessed
from Xi servers using secure Xi communication.
